7-Day Mikumi, Nyerere NP + Udzungwa Hiking & Waterfall

Today's Experience

The journey will start from Dar es Salaam early in the morning when our professional driver will pick you up and drive to Mikumi National Park. On arrival, you will learn how to make a fire with sticks and also learn more about the Maasai. You'll explore the places where most of them live, and experience their traditions and customs. After the safari, head back to your camp to prepare for the next day's activities.

Today's Experience

After breakfast, you will head out to Mikumi National Park for a full-day game drive. Experience the wonderful animals like lion, eland and buffalo that can be found here. The Mikumi Floodplain is the main feature of the park bordering the mountain ranges. In the afternoon, you will have time for lunch, before continuing with the game drive until the evening. Return to the camp to prepare for the next day's scheduled activities.

Today's Experience

After an early breakfast, you go to Udzungwa Mountains National Park for hiking at the waterfalls. You will receive a briefing on arrival, and then start your hike in the forest mountains. From the top of the waterfall, you have a great view of the enormous Kilombero Sugarcane Valley, one of the biggest sugarcane plantations in Tanzania. In the afternoon, you will have a packed lunch.

Today's Experience

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your camp and driven to Nyerere National Park with a picnic lunch on the way. We arrive in the late afternoon and go on a boat safari where you’ll spot hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitats. Meals and your overnight stay will be offered at Africa Safari Camp.

After breakfast, from 7:30 am to the evening, you will do a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park (formerly known as Selous Game Reserve). The journey will start from the Africa Safari Selous Camp where you will be picked up by our professional drivers and guides. Today, you will enjoy seeing animals including elephant, zebra, giraffe, antelope, and many more. You will also see birds and landscape scenery with varied topography including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest, and higher ground with vast views of far-off mountains. In the afternoon, you will have your packed lunch and some time to rest. We then continue with the game drive until evening when you will return to Africa Safari Selous for dinner and sleep, preparing for the next day.

Today's Experience

After breakfast, you will do another full-day game drive until the evening. Go on different routes from the previous day, starting from the Africa Safari Camp where you will be picked up by our professional drivers and guides. Today, you will get to see various animals including elephant, zebra, giraffe, antelope and more. You will also see birds, and landscape scenery with varied topography including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest, and higher ground with vast views of far-off mountains. You will also get a chance to visit a hot spring and even go swimming. This visit depends on the accessibility of the road to the location since, during the rainy season, there will be mud on the road. In the afternoon, you will get a packed lunch and some time to rest, then continue with the game drive. In the evening, you will return to Africa Safari Selous for dinner and sleep and prepare for tomorrow.

Today's Experience

On your last day, before breakfast, you will do a walking tour in the forest with a Bushman, accompanied by an armed ranger. We return to the hotel for breakfast and prepare for our trip to the Mtemere Airstrip where you will be picked up by our drivers for your flight to Zanzibar. We can also arrange a trip back to Dar es Salaam if you prefer.
