Terms & Conditions

Clear expectations before Uwanda starts arranging your safari.

These terms explain the general use of this website and the booking expectations that apply when travelers request a private Tanzania safari quote.

Last updated July 2026

Final booking terms, inclusions, exclusions, and payment deadlines are confirmed in the written quote, invoice, or itinerary supplied by Uwanda.

Website Use

Information on this website is a planning guide.

Safari descriptions, starting prices, routes, lodge examples, activities, and travel notes are provided to help travelers compare options. They may change because of season, park rules, availability, exchange rates, flight schedules, supplier terms, or route conditions.

Quotes & Bookings

Your booking is confirmed only after written acceptance and required payment.

A safari is considered confirmed when Uwanda issues written confirmation and the agreed deposit or payment has been received. Until then, lodge rooms, permits, domestic flights, guides, vehicles, and activities remain subject to availability.

Traveler Responsibility

Travelers should review passports, visas, insurance, health needs, and arrival details.

Guests are responsible for valid travel documents, travel insurance, medical advice, personal belongings, and accurate information shared during planning. Uwanda can provide guidance, but official requirements should be checked with the relevant authorities.

Supplier Conditions

Some parts of a safari are controlled by third-party suppliers.

Lodges, airlines, park authorities, ferry providers, mountain crews, and activity operators may apply their own rules, fees, and cancellation terms. Those conditions may affect changes, refunds, and availability.

Full Terms & Conditions

The complete booking terms that apply to every Uwanda safari.

1. Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed once Uwanda Tours & Safaris receives a deposit and sends you a written confirmation via email. By confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions on behalf of all travelers in your group.

2. Payments

A non-refundable deposit (typically 30% of the total tour cost) is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The balance must be settled no later than 45 days prior to the tour start date. Bookings made within 45 days of departure must be paid in full immediately.

Payments can be made via bank transfer, online payment link, or other approved methods. Bank charges are the responsibility of the client.

3. Tour Modifications & Changes

Uwanda Tours & Safaris reserves the right to modify itineraries, transport, or accommodation in the interest of client safety, comfort, or circumstances beyond our control. You will be notified promptly of any major changes and may choose to:

  • Accept the revised arrangements,
  • Book an alternative safari of similar value, or
  • Cancel your booking with applicable compensation.

Minor changes (e.g., timing adjustments or equivalent substitutions) do not qualify for compensation. No compensation is available for changes caused by force majeure events such as natural disasters, political unrest, or pandemics.

4. Cancellation By The Traveler

All cancellations must be made in writing. The following charges apply:

  • 60+ days before departure – 50% of deposit forfeited
  • 45–60 days before departure – 100% of deposit forfeited
  • 30–44 days before departure – 80% of total cost forfeited
  • 0–29 days before departure – 100% of total cost forfeited

We strongly recommend obtaining travel insurance that covers cancellation, medical emergencies, and interruptions.

5. Cancellation By Uwanda Tours & Safaris

If Uwanda Tours & Safaris cancels a tour for any reason other than client default or force majeure, you will receive a full refund or be offered an alternative tour of equal value. We are not responsible for additional expenses incurred by travelers, such as international flights or visa costs.

6. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses, evacuation, and personal belongings is mandatory. Proof of valid insurance may be required before departure.

7. Health & Medical Conditions

Travelers are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to participate in safari activities. Please inform us in advance of any medical conditions, dietary needs, or disabilities. Uwanda Tours & Safaris is not liable for illnesses, injuries, or death resulting from pre-existing health conditions.

8. Passports, Visas & Vaccinations

It is the traveler’s responsibility to obtain and carry valid passports, visas, and vaccination certificates as required by Tanzanian law. Uwanda Tours & Safaris provides general guidance but is not responsible for denied entry or related expenses due to incomplete travel documentation.

9. Wildlife & Safari Conduct

Our safaris take place in natural wildlife habitats. Travelers must follow the instructions of guides at all times. Uwanda Tours & Safaris cannot be held responsible for incidents resulting from non-compliance with safety regulations or reckless behavior during wildlife encounters.

10. Photography & Marketing

Uwanda Tours & Safaris may use photos or videos taken during safaris for promotional purposes (social media, website, brochures) unless the client explicitly requests otherwise in writing before the tour.

11. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

If you experience a problem during your safari, please notify your guide or our office immediately so that corrective action can be taken. Unresolved issues must be submitted in writing within 14 days after your trip ends.

In case of dispute, both parties agree to first seek an amicable settlement. If unresolved, disputes will be governed by Tanzanian law and settled in the courts of Tanzania.

12. Liability & Responsibility

Uwanda Tours & Safaris acts as an agent for third-party suppliers. We are not liable for injury, loss, delay, or damage caused by third parties, acts of God, or events beyond our control. Our liability is limited to the total value of services booked directly through us.

13. Updates To Terms & Conditions

Uwanda Tours & Safaris reserves the right to revise these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Updates take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services signifies acceptance of the latest version.
